Establishing Parentage

If a child is born outside of marriage, the only way to establish paternity is either by signing a voluntary declaration, or otherwise filing papers with the court to request that paternity be established.

Usually a child's parentage must be established before you can get child support or custody and visitation orders. You can ask the judge for child support or custody and visitation as part of a case that establishes the parentage of a child.

Several forms must be filed with the court and service must also be affected against the responding party. We will prepare all of your necessary forms as well as take care of the personal service involved.
